Once in a while, I would head on over to the Microsoft’s Download Center to check out if there are any worthy downloads from Microsoft. Well, today is one of those days.

First, they are in the midst of changing the Download Center into a Silverlight based interface. There is a Beta of the Silverlight interface right now. Silverlight? It’s Microsoft’s answer to Flash – sort of..

To all users of Windows XP, be prepared for the upcoming release of Service Pack 3. Microsoft has already released the RC2 of SP3 to the public. RC2 is now available in the Download Center. Check out the Release Notes before you install RC2.

I’m not saying that you should install RC2. However, do go ahead and test it out if you are of the curious type. If not, just wait for the official release of the service pack. I think I will test it out in a controlled environment – Virtual Machine.
