Wake Forest gave it their all. Up until the fourth quarter, they had Miami in control. The Demon Deacons ended the match with 555 total yards. They harassed J.Harris and the Canes offense for much of the game.
Miami ended the match with 356 total yards. They have the fourth quarter to thank for a majority of those yard total. The offense basically did not click in the first three quarters.
At the end of the fourth, J.Harris threw the winning 13 yards TD pass to T.Benjamin. Wake Forest were down by one point at 28- 27. There was 1:08 minutes left on the game clock. McManus quickly drove the Demon Deacons across midfield. They get to set up a 60-yard field goal attempt from J.Newman. The kick, however, fell well short on the game’s final play.
The win puts Miami at 3 – 2 in the ACC. The ACC title is still within grasp. They still need Georgia Tech to stumble at least one game, though. The Canes will really need to pull their act together.
A one point win against Wake Forest is not really going to help them at the polls.
Next, Miami will be looking at hosting Virginia. Another ACC team. The Hurricanes must win all their remaining matches if they want a shot at the ACC title. No two ways about it.
The U is certainly not 100% back yet. They are coming back..
Go Canes!
