Welcome To The World

We went to the Maternity ward of Hospital Tuanku Fauziah, Kangar the day before – August 2nd, 2011 at about 3pm after Super Mom (my dearest Mona Azwa), noticed some blood (they call it “The Show”). She was then warded, after the MO performed a number of checks.

So, she stayed at the maternity ward and I went back home. At about 2:30am August 3rd 2011, I received an SMS from Super Mom. She was going into the labor room. They were going to break her water bag. At 3:30am, I drove over to the maternity ward.

This time around, I am not aloud to be by her side during labor. So, it’s her first time going into labor on her own. So, off I went to the warong in front of the hospital. “Sahur” at about 4:00am. A little too early than usual for me. Rather be early than having to rush things later on.

At about 5:30am, they called me up. They are taking the baby to me. I was then given the opportunity to read the azan and iqamah to the baby. After which, the baby is then taken back into the ward. They also gave me the placenta.

Right now, I am tinkering with two names for the baby. It’s now down to Qashid and Qushayri. Insyallah..

Better make a start before the traffic starts to pile up.

So, insyallah, by the end of today evening, a new baby will be delivered into the world.

Will try to update things as soon as possible. Will probably be a tad busy doing new baby stuff today, though.

Oh yes, if you’re wondering which hospital, it’s Hospital Ampang.

[Update: 10:30PM]: New baby was delivered into the world at 12:25PM.  Mama spent a few hours in labor, after being induced at around 9:00AM. At 12:15PM Mama requested for the nurse and the labor process started. 10 minutes later, we were joined by the latest member of our family – a cute little baby boy. Weighting in at 3.37kg, he is a tad bigger than our eldest who was at 3.26kg.

Mama and baby are both well and healthy. Alhamdulillah. My thank you goes to the staff of Hospital Ampang for a job well done.

Tomorrow, I will have to go in and ask if they have a circumcision service for babies. I’ve asked the nurses in the labor room and maternity ward. They don’t seem to know anything about it. They claim that it has never been requested before. Hmmmmm.. Are we the first parent to request for such a service in Hospital Ampang?
