I purchased this system to use in my bedroom for music, movies and general laptop use. Easy set up, looks great in my modern bedroom. Had to turn the bass down below mid point so neighbors wouldnt complain. Not the loudest of systems but plenty for a large bedroom/ living room /den. When I turn up the volume all the way it is impossible to hear anyone talking without yelling. If you need anything louder you may have personal issues. I love the remote volume control that I can plug in my Iphone to play music.
For regular people, these work wonderfully.

I am not a proper AUDOPHILE. I do have a monster hugh collection of MP3′s and I listen to music all the time… normally using my computer to play it, or jacking my iPhone into a computer set up to play the music. So, that is how I listen to music.
I bought, about 2 years ago, a computer speaker set up made by Bose… the 100 dollar ones… and, the bass was so high on them, they overpowered my listening experience. I waited for them to die, since I paid for them and everything…. Since I play music all the time when at home.. I really get to test out everything I buy…. I decided Bose was not going to be my next purchase.
I also wanted a stereo speaker system where I could control the bass. It is not necessary to have the bass FULL TILT on every song. (Hey Bose, wake up)
I decided to get these speakers. What I like about them, they sound crisp. And the bass is very easy to control, especially with the handy remote… this addition is very nice, also has a volume control… I had a logitech three speaker set up before …. about 3 or 4 years ago.. and they have really improved the set up all around.
Will this setup make the audiophile happy? Most likely it wont. I give it five stars based on the sound of MARS VOLTA coming out of it.. and it sound crisp and wonderful.
I do not think Joe Six Pack will be wanting, or needing anything more than these computer speakers if they listen the way I do.
