excellent for the price

For $50-60, this system is excellent. All thats needed is a Y cable (any Radioshack for 10 dollars) to connect these speakers to your stereo out/headphone jack on a computer/laptop.
Sound quality is absolutely fine. Its not Bose perfect, but it is very clear and crisp. I used it in a dorm room, and got complaints for the bass two floors down in concrete brick walls. Have been blasting them daily for three years and they sound just as they did brand new, and the bass is hitting just as well. The surround sound is not very impressive, and I set up the speakers around the room but this did not make a huge difference in sound. Still, sound is excellent and loud enough, and overall has been the best investment in computer speakers.

First i must say i heisted when it came to buying these but i must say i was VERY impressed with the performance of these speakers i would recommend any to get these speakers, THEY ROCK, the bass treble and everything sound so SMOOOOOTHHHHH. Once you hear these speakers you would never go back to the simple 2.1 sound. I LOVE MY SPEAKERS. I recommend these speakers to any one.

Great speaker system. I use them in my dorm room and ive already been yelled at 8 times about how loud the bass is. Don’t wait your time on a new one buy used. Great system, recommend it to anyone.
Great 5.1 Speakers, Powerful Bass

I got these speakers back in college, upgrading from a 2.1 speaker set up…this was my first 5.1 speaker set, and even though I’ve later purchased other 5.1 speakers these are great and I still love to use them.
I must note that these speakers are VERY bass-heavy…there is a knob with which you can adjust bass, when it’s turned down to its lowest setting there is still a strong bass presence. I personally am a big fan of big bass, so it wasn’t an issue with me, but if you’re in a communal living environment (i.e. dorm setting), be forewarned you might have some less-than-happy neighbors…
Strong bass, and good sound in my opinion…what I like is that this system can get very loud, even when it’s not at its full volume! Great for parties, and not too heavy to transport.
In conclusion, these are loud speakers with very strong bass and a good sound. I like mine very much and highly recommend them!
