As whizz engine developer, I would like to share the engine behind myportal,
Whizz engine was develop using pure VB6, compile as COM+ DLL
is was base on FXMods (fxmods.com) engine version 2.61. Fully converted to DLL using ASP2DLL. (165 kb in size)
Since year 2003. We maintain the code in vb6. The good thing about was it only use 24MB of memory per server, share for every portal, and run very fast. The development will continue.. we add more module as needed.

The interface was in XSL, database is XML.
