Outstanding Keyboard, Warning for Boot Camp Users
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is perhaps my favorite keyboard I have ever owned. It does have a slightly different feel from the USB corded keyboard with a similar appearance, but I adjusted quickly to the new feel.
The battery life has been exceptional, and Snow Leopard still reports 100% battery after a few weeks (the Magic Mouse, on the other hand eats battery more quickly, but that is a separate review).
I especially like that you never have to turn it on or off, since it has such intelligent power management.
The range is also incredible. I use this keyboard upstairs with a MacBook Pro, and when I use the laptop standalone downstairs, it still connects to the keyboard! I end up sometimes temporarily turning off Bluetooth on the MacBook Pro, just to save battery life.
One word of caution for Boot Camp users: it is challenging to get the keyboard to pair with Windows XP in Boot Camp. I wrote a blog article on how to do this, and I am currently getting hundreds of hits on that article from Google searches, which suggests that many users are having the same problem. Amazon won’t let me link to that blog post here, so if you plan to use this keyboard with Boot Camp, just do a Google search for ["Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Boot Camp Windows XP" and "tech blog"] (type everything between the brackets, including the quotes, but not including the brackets).
Minimalist’s Dream
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Simple, elegantly designed, and functional. This keyboard is the best thing I’ve treated myself to in the last year. I hate wires and clutter. I wish ALL my peripherals were wireless and as good looking as the keyboard. Ships with 2 Energizer batteries already installed in the unit.
No problem setting up bluetooth at all. Sometimes when I need space to work in front of me I just pick up the keyboard and put it somewhere else. It is SO effortless.
Easy Easy Easy
I am one of those people who don’t believe that the expanded keyboard is that useful- if you have to do accounting then maybe the 10 key will be necessary. But if you are just looking for a sweet piece of modern design on your desktop, buy this!!!
You will have no regrets purchasing.
Another elegant – and well executed – Apple product
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought my first iMac 5 months ago and was blown away by both the simplicity and power of this deceivingly small footprint all in one computer. I have to say the same thing about this keyboard. It takes almost no desk space at all, pairs immediately upon activating, and definitely contributes to greater typing accuracy due to mandatory hand placement. It has a very nice tactile feedback upon keypress and is as responsive as any wired keyboard. The fact that it matches my aluminum fronted iMac is another plus. Apple attention to detail and elegance is evident in this beautifully small – but exceptionally well executed – product.
A nice update to the beautiful and stylish Apple wireless keyboard
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This product is a minor hardware update to the original Apple Wireless Keyboard Kit. It now uses 2 AA batteries instead of 3.
The Apple wireless keyboard is my favorite out of all the dozens of wired and wireless keyboards I’ve tried in my lifetime. I’ve had it for over 2 years now. As with nearly all Apple products, it’s a masterful union of style and functionality. It looks great and works great. Build quality is excellent, with a beautiful metal housing that is designed for looks as well as durability. It really stands out from the sea of black plastic keyboards out there. A pleasant little green dot lights up when on, but is totally hidden when off. Made of anodized aluminum, it’s got a matte, frosty texture. It’s very light and portable, as well as being more environmentally friendly since aluminum can be recycled when this product reaches the end of its usable life.
The keys lie almost flat against the surface of the keyboard and may take a little getting used to at first because they don’t “clack”. After using it for a few days though, I now prefer this tactile response. It’s got a different spring feel to it and is very quiet.
No wires means I can work and sit the way I want to, instead of being constrained to the length of the keyboard cord. I often have it on my lap because this position eliminates shoulder strain by having my arms rest at a neutral position instead of being elevated on a desk.
Because it is Bluetooth, I can put this anywhere and not worry about dangerous wires to trip over or having to face the computer directly (or even be in the same room). Bluetooth does not need line of sight and I’ve never had a problem with a weak signal or interference, unlike some of the Kensington wireless keyboards I’ve tested. This keyboard also works with the PlayStation 3 and Bluetooth-enabled Windows machines like my Acer laptop. Sometimes I pair the keyboard with my PS3 when I’m playing games online.
The only con I can think of is that a full-sized version is not available. I use this mostly at home and would like to have the number pad and usual set of keys on the right 1/3 of the keyboard.
Excellent

I’m very pleased with this keyboard. Keys have a great feel. Set up was easy and straight forward. Battery life seems great. Small overall size. I don’t miss the lack of numeric keys at all. Appearance is esthetically very nice. I’m happy that I got this and highly recommend.
