Innovative Design Keeps Your Desk Looking Sharp
The Altec Lansing VS2521 features a unique design that maximizes your desk space while maintaining a high-quality sound. With its high-tech metal grilles, the VS2521 not only looks great but allows you to position the speakers either vertically or horizontally. You also can interlock the two speakers horizontally and place them beneath your monitor--a great space-saving feature.

Smart design extras include a convenient front-panel headphone jack for private listening so you don't wake up the neighbors, and a front-panel input jack that lets you easily plug in your MP3 player without disconnecting the speaker system from your computer, or reaching blindly around the back of the system, searching for the right plug. And thanks to color-coded cables, you'll be up and listening in seconds.

Great, High-Quality Sound
The two satellite speakers feature custom-engineered 2-1/2-inch full-range drivers in a unique cabinet with asymmetrical baffling that reduces standing waves. What this means is great, clean sound with less distortion. The satellites have a frequency range from 180 Hz to 20 kHz, and are powered at 7 Watts per channel. Each satellite speaker measures 4.3 x 4.1 x 8.7 inches (W x D x H).

The powered subwoofer features a large 5-1/4-inch long throw driver that'll have you thumping along to your favorite music and movies. The bass is strong and tight, and goes all the way down to 30 Hz with a power of 14 Watts into 8 ohms. The subwoofer measures 9.4 x 8.3 x 8.3 inches (W x D x H).

Together, the system has a frequency response from 30 Hz to 20 kHz, meaning you won't miss a single note.

The Altec Lansing VS2521 is backed by a one-year warranty.

    Great product for the price

Bought this last Friday on an impulse because the price was right (and my old speakers were not all that great); and received it a couple of days ago (pretty fast delivery considering I chose “standard / free” shipping). It was a snap to setup – took me all of 5 minutes from unboxing to turning it on… I have played songs and movie clips on it over the past couple of days and it simply sounds great… it’s not a Bose of course, but when you consider the price I paid for it, I’d say it is a great bargain.

Worth every dollar spent on this product!!

I bought these speakers on thanksgiving day when the prices were slashed to less than $30. Got the shipment a couple of days back with free super saving shipping, and I am really really happy with the product…

The sound quality is really awesome for the price I have paid for the speakers. The bass and treble settings on the right speaker makes it so much easier. The best part of the speakers is that the sound does not get distorted even a bit even at full volume. The woofer is really good, but be careful – it is located at the bottom, so just take care you dont handle the woofer too roughly while you are taking it out of the box…

Another good thing is that I can lock the two speakers together and save some space on my desk when it gets too cluttered. Also, the auxiliary and the headphone jacks are located in front of the right speaker… I havent used it much with my computer, cause I just connect it to my ipod as most of my music is on my ipod.

I would have been much more pleased if the connecting wires would have been more longer, so that I would have been able to set up a system in my room. The smaller wires makes it mandatory for me to place them on my desk…

But I am really pleased overall with the product. I really cant say if its worth the $50 that they are priced at right now, as I don’t really know too much about speakers, but its definitely worth every dollar I have spent on it…

The speakers function properly, however upon un packing I discovered a loose component in the bass speaker housing. It turned our to be the round toilet paper like tube that should have been glued into the housing. I was able to repair the tube so I didn’t feel the need to send them back. The sound quality is ok, but nothing to write home about. They are adaquate for my teenagers PC. I was hoping for slightly better quality from Altec Lansing. I guess you get what you pay for. The price was good…

    Could be excellent but…

Woofer stopped working after several months – the wires are all hard connects so I can’t even take the woofer out of the system, and the cords are too short, the light little speakers are always falling this way and that. Otherwise sound was good.
