    Decent Speakers for the Price
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Pros: These speakers are hooked up to my Desktop PC, they sound good with decent bass for a set without a subwoofer.

Cons: The left speaker and right speaker are “stuck” together by a 5′ or 6′ wire. You cannot detach one from the other.

    Other Thoughts:

I got a very good deal for these speakers from this site for $35.

There is no aux out port for headphones.

There is also a power button to turn on/off your speakers.

I also have a set of Logitech Z-2300 speakers which is much louder with a lot more bass and is THX certified but comes with a subwoofer.

I have those set up with an HTPC system and a 42″ LCD for movie watching.

Very good sound quality, but occupies a lot of space

These speakers offer very good sound quality. While I have definitely listened to speakers with boomier bass, I feel that it has just enough bass. It more than makes up for less bass with superior high end and mid range quality. The only way to match this sound quality and get more bass is to spend more money. I have tested this system with both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro and it is definitely an upgrade over the built in speakers in both these devices. It is electronically shielded so cell phones, and random cars passing by will not cause it to make annoying noises. It can also be turned off when you are not

The sole downside to this I feel is that there is some barely noticeable echo from the sound. I also feel there is not as much separation between the individual notes, especially with bass, as there are on other systems.

This system is great for listening in a small room, but if you have a large room, this won’t fill the room as well as more expensive systems. I do have to say that the size is much bigger than I had expected. In height and width it is comparable to other similar systems, but it the barrel is much wider and deeper than most systems.

Wow. Nice Upgrade if You Ask Me.

I’m currently using these with my laptop and Ipod Shuffle, and I cannot complain about the sound at all. I wasn’t using anything else besides some by Logitech that I moved to the desktop PC since they were just fine, too (and came with a subwoofer). I do notice the lower sounds enough that I like this upgrade for my laptop, and it even sounds great at high volume when you’re at the computer about two feet away. It creates a kind of spacious, surround sound effect as if you’re in a room instead of at the computer. This is why I cannot complain about these speakers as others have. I had been using an Aiwa system on my desktop PC for the longest running time that I’ve had speakers so far (since 2001), and if you like the design of the ones here, you shouldn’t be too disappointed by that, either. I don’t know how a lot of speakers sound these days besides those two, and the new logitech, but they’re comparable and decent and something to be grateful for.

Better sounding, better looking, better price than Bose
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve always been a fan of Bose, especially back in the good old direct/reflecting 301 days, but Altec Lansing has caught up and passed them in quality, looks, and obviously price. The expressionist classic speakers in particular, deliver beauty and bang-for-the-buck.

I just need to know if u have any distributors or where I can purchase Altec Lansing PC speakers in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia

  6. kodeexii says:

Not sure about distributors. However, your best bet in finding any PC speakers Altec Lansing or any other brands would be at Low Yat in the heart of Bukit Bintang, KL.
